AVERAGE WHITE BAND

The Average White Band é uma banda escocesa de funk e R&B que teve uma série de sucessos de soul e disco entre 1974 e 1980. Eles são mais conhecidos por sua faixa instrumental que vendeu um milhão de cópias “Pick Up the Pieces” e seus álbuns AWB e Cut the Cake. O nome da banda foi inicialmente proposto por Bonnie Bramlett. Eles influenciaram outros, como o Brand New Heavies, e foram amostrados por vários músicos, incluindo os Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Eric B. & Rakim, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest , Arrested Development, uma das bandas mais gravadas e sampleadas da história.
