MONTEREY INTERNATIONAL POP FESTIVAL

O Monterey International Pop Music Festival aconteceu de 16 a 18 de junho de 1967 no Monterey County Fairgrounds, em Monterey, na Califórnia, nos Estados Unidos. Foi organizado pelos produtores Loud Adler e Alan Pariser, o músico John Phillips (do The Mamas & the Papas) e o publicitário Derek Taylor. Entre os membros da comissão do festival, estavam integrantes dos Beatles e dos Beach Boys.
Os artistas se apresentaram de graça, com toda a renda sendo doada a instituições de caridade. Mais de 200.000 pessoas compareceram ao festival, que é considerado como o começo do “Verão do Amor” dos hippies. Wikipedia
