THE PRODIGY

The Prodigy é uma banda inglesa de música eletrônica de Braintree, Essex, formada em 1990 pelo produtor musical e compositor Liam Howlett. A formação da banda inclui o MC e vocalista Maxim, dançarino e vocalista Keith Flint (até sua morte em março de 2019), dançarino e tecladista ao vivo Leeroy Thornhill (que saiu para seguir carreira solo em 2000) e dançarino e vocalista Sharky (1990 –1991). Junto com os Chemical Brothers e Fatboy Slim, os Prodigy são creditados como pioneiros do gênero big beat influenciado pelo breakbeat, que alcançou popularidade no mainstream na década de 1990. Os ritmos de bateria inspirados no rock de Howlett infundidos com batidas/breaks de música eletrônica rave foram combinados com a mística onipresente de Maxim, o estilo de dança shuffle de Thornhill e a aparência punk moderna de Flint.
